Document Authoring is now Experience Workspace
Big news: Document Authoring just leveled up. What started as a fast, lightweight way to author markdown content has grown into something much bigger: a full authoring surface built for the agentic age. We're calling it Experience Workspace, and it's available today.
TL;DR - Document Authoring (DA) is now Experience Workspace (EW). It is built on the same foundation you already trust, but it now offers a visual editor, an AI Assistant, skill management, memory, and true human/agent collaboration built in. Nothing you've built in DA breaks. This is an upgrade, not a migration.
Why we built this
Content doesn't come from just one place anymore. It comes from authors, from agents, from LLMs, from automated pipelines (often all at once). What every team needs is a single, trusted place to bring it all together: to review it, improve it, approve it, and ship it with confidence.
That's exactly what Experience Workspace is designed to be: an authoring surface built for how teams actually create content today, where human creativity and AI capability meet, and where every piece of content is shaped by real knowledge of your brand.
What's new and why it's exciting
Experience Workspace gives content teams everything they need in one place:
Authoring, reimagined
- WYSIWYG canvas with a layout mode - See exactly what you're publishing, as you build it.
- Collaboration - Humans and AI work on the same canvas together and in real time.
- AI Assistant - AI is on tap for prompts, skills, and fast content generation.
- AEM Assets integration - Access approved brand assets instantly within the editor
Intelligence that knows your brand
- Enterprise Context brings your brand identity, marketing signals, and key data straight into the authoring experience.
- Author memory learns as you work, getting smarter and faster the more your team uses it.
- MCP-powered connections are possible to any Adobe or third-party tool. The workspace flexes to fit how your team already works.
- Optimization insights are surfaced automatically from site performance and external signals, so good content keeps getting better.
Operations built for scale
- Full CMS capabilities - Manage, publish, schedule, and orchestrate content workflows.
- Skills management - Extend and customize the platform for your team's needs.
- MCP and REST API support - Integrate Experience Workspace directly into your own pipelines.
Experience Workspace takes you from a blank page to a published, on-brand, optimized experience faster, and with AI as a genuine creative partner every step of the way.

Frequently asked questions
Do I have to switch right now?
No. Experience Workspace is an option you enable when you're ready. Your existing setup keeps working exactly as it does today.
Will my existing content be affected?
No. Nothing is migrated or altered. Experience Workspace is an additive upgrade to how you author, not a change to what you've already built.
What about my existing integrations and API usage?
They continue to work unchanged. Experience Workspace adds new MCP and REST API capabilities on top. It doesn't remove anything you rely on today.
Is this compatible with the AEM Author instance?
Experience Workspace only works with the document-based repository of Edge Delivery Services. If you use Edge Delivery Services in combination with AEM Author, you only need to move your content to the document-based repository. Reach out to us for additional information.
