AEM agentic plugins

AEM agentic plugins is a connector you register in Experience Workspace allowing you can run a set of authoring, publishing, and administrative actions by describing what you want in natural language using the assistant, instead of opening a separate plugin or app for each task.

AEM agentic plugins is a single MCP connector hosted by Adobe. Registering it exposes several features the assistant. You then turn on the features you want, one site at a time, by adding their skills.

Each feature has two parts:

• Tools come from the connector. These are the actions the assistant can take, such as submitting a request or granting access.
• A skill is the instruction set that tells the assistant when and how to use those tools safely. You add the skill per site.

Everything runs as the signed-in user. The connector receives your Experience Workspace identity and passes it to the service behind each feature, which decides what you are allowed to do. The assistant never acts as anyone else.

What it provides

Once the AEM agentic plugins connector is registered, these features become available.

Request publish

Route content using request publish by using the assistant. An author can ask to publish a page and the assistant resolves the approvers, shows a summary, and submits after confirmation. Approvers can list what is waiting for them, open a diff, and approve or reject.

Schedule publish

Use the assistant to schedule a page to publish at a future time, then check or cancel what is scheduled. The assistant confirms the page and the time before scheduling. Your Experience Workspace permissions are enforced when scheduling pages.

• "What's scheduled to publish?"
• "Cancel the scheduled publish for this page"

Permissions

Use the assistant to view and change permissions such as who can read, write, or is denied access in Experience Workspace. The assistant reads current access live, shows a summary of any change, and waits for your confirmation before granting or revoking. It can only edit configuration you already have rights to edit.

• "Give jane@example.com write access to /blog"
• "Remove bob@example.com's access to the site"

Identity and safety

• Acts only as you - The connector forwards your signed-in identity, and the service behind each feature authorizes every action against it. You cannot act on someone else's behalf.
• Confirms before it changes anything - For any action that writes (submitting, approving, rejecting, withdrawing, scheduling, cancelling, granting, or revoking), the assistant shows a summary and waits for your explicit confirmation. A standing or blanket approval is refused.
• Reading is free; writing is gated. - Viewing permissions, listing requests, or checking a schedule needs no confirmation.
• Reports honestly - The assistant marks an action as done only when the underlying call actually succeeds.

Setup

Registering the connector is a one-time step per site. Enabling each feature is separate, so you can turn on only what you need.

Prerequisites

• Some features need their own onboarding first. request publish, for example, requires your org and site to be onboarded and configured before it works.
• You need config-write access to your site to register connectors and add skills.

Step 1: Register the connector

Open the Skills Editor at https://da.live/apps/skills#/<org>/<site>. On the MCPs tab, choose Register MCP and enter the following and save.

The connector's tools are now available to the assistant on your site. The service derives who you are from your signed-in session; the assistant never sends an email address or acts as anyone but you.

Step 2: Turn on the features you want

Each feature is driven by a skill you add on the Skills tab. You can also disable any tools that you do not need in your workflows.

Step 3: Use it with the assistant

Open the assistant panel on the page or site you want to work on, then describe the task. A few starting points:
